PROPOSED SPORTS BODY FOR STORK WILL ALSO SUIT A PRESENT LONG-CHASSIS 40/50. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG20.1.23. GET C/BUILDERS ESTIMATE To BJ. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} RE. BODY FOR "STORK" CHASSIS. R- PARK WARD. We send you herewith prints of the proposed Sports body for 'Stork'. This body will also suit one of the present long type 40/50 chassis so long as the radiator and dashboard are altered to suit. At the present time the D.O. are setting out the dimensions of the bonnet and dashboard and in the mean-time there is sufficient information on these prints to get estimates from the Coachbuilder as regards cost and delivery. R.{Sir Henry Royce} suggested that this body might be made at Park Wards. Park Wards are the people who made his original open touring body which he is very pleased with and the impression is that they are more preapred to work to our suggestions than other Coachbuilders. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} is proposing to watch the con-struction of this body. It will be necessary to point out to the Coachbuilders that we do not require this body mounting on a chassis as we should not think of sending a "Störk" into the Coachbuilders. The body would have to be made to templates and sent to Derby. We should mount the body on the chassis ourselves at the Works. We also recommend that you put in hand a covered body suitable for the "Stork" or "Heron". (Both these cars have the same frame and dashboard). We would suggest that the most suitable body would be a Saloon type. We suggest that the Coachbuilders are asked to supply a print giving the main dimensions and particulars before it is started on. It will be necessary, however, for this body to be put in hand at once. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
