S/SW. 15.2.57. 2500 (K) Tibet Boot to ZX.252A The mock-up of the boot with the petrol tank and full size spare wheel and tyre below the floor has been completed and tests of the luggage capacity carried out. General This arrangement of the boot gives an immediate impression of greater capacity, which is confirmed by luggage stowage tests. The appearance is improved by the increase in length resulting from moving the petrol tank from a position under the parcel tray to one under the floor. The most serious criticism we have is the difficulty in removing the spare wheel from its well. Capacity The boot will hold :- 1. A Siam set of seven suitcases plus 2 medium cases (22" x 14" x 6") plus 3 small cases (20" x 14 1/2" x 6 1/2") or 2. One School trunk plus a Siam set of suitcases plus 2 small cases (all except two of the cases are lying flat) or 3. One School trunk plus a Siam set of suitcases plus 2 medium cases plus 1 small case (this is a bit of a jig-saw puzzle and two medium cases have to be stood on their ends) continued.... | ||
