Dear Sirs,

I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 17th inst., with information regarding the 20,000 miles test on the speedometer with the suggested new type of total mileage. It is really most regrettable that the trip of this instrument gave trouble, because, as a matter of fact, since this type of trip recorder has been used, troubles in that direction are practically non-existant.

It is interesting to note, however, that that part of the instrument which we are recommending for permission to change has evidently functioned perfectly, and that it is the existing part of the instrument which has failed.

I am proceeding on holiday this week-end, but I am asking Mr. Lenoir, whom Mr. West has met, to contact with you on this matter, in an effort to obtain your very kind permission to make this change and explain to you the reason for the fault of the trip recorder, after he has carefully examined the instrument which is being returned.

Yours faithfully,
For THE A.T. SPEEDOMETER CO. LTD

(Signature of H R Buckland)

Director.
