1029 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}S/MH.{M. Huckerby} 5th. February 1938. The New-Hudson Ltd., Icknield Street, Birmingham. For the attention of Mr.Frazer. Dear Sirs, The small rod joining on to the expander cone on the rear brakes of our test car with Girling brakes has failed. This is rather unfortunate as the fact will receive much publicity in these works. The writer cannot come over on Monday as he has to attend to the matter. We want six expander units similar to our drawing GCD.469 enclosed, in a hurry. They should be interchangeable with our present pieces, but the dimension marked on the upper right hand corner of our print which is said to be unchanged, may in fact have to be increased by 1/16". Will you please look into this, and detail the pieces, and let us know what you think about it. The stops should be latest ground pins. Perhaps the writer can come over later in the week if anything needs discussing. Yours Faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
