(2) Another place for the lubricator would be on the aluminium shield with suitable holes drilled to allow the oil to enter the joint. Rather than have the present lubricator when it is knocked off, it would appear better to use an ordinary hexagon plug which could be readily unscrewed by say a spark-ing plug spanner.
