The condition is much as reported in AJS.1/H5-3-25 from West WitteringHenry Royce's home town, the positive brush being now almost worn down to the limit the surface being smooth but not polished. The other brushes are polished and not greatly worn. The commutator is smooth, but dark in colour and is very little worn. There is a considerable deposit of brush dust (EG2 grade) and all the holders broke down to earth on 200 volts a.c., the armature however being OK. Signed: HH.
