-2- DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}10/G.26.10.37. (4). In view of the movement at the front doors of bodies with demountable tops, such as Sedancas and Coupes, even with a solid mounting of the scuttle to the dash and frame, it is suggested that we should try on the experimental Sedanca 37-EX. solid mounting of the body to the chassis on the first two horizontal body brackets counting from the dash, and called A.{Mr Adams} and B. in Recommendations to Coachbuilders. If this does not affect the amount of tyre noise, it is proposed that it should be standardised. (5). Fairly repeated trouble through squeaks is experienced with the rearmost body bracket due to its face not being horizontal, and also on account of the fact that the attachment has to be by set-screw. There is movement between the set-screw head and its locking plate. The best cure would be to move the bracket forward on the frame, to a position similar to that on Wraith lll, where it would come in the wheelarch, and a bolt could be used. The bracket face would then be horizontal. This body fixing broke on the Kenya Car, and has never been a good job, as it was put on as an afterthought. 25/30 HP. CHASSIS. On the 25/30 Chassis Print we have recently added dimensions and notes to make sure that clearance is allowed to permit of the removal of the steering pendulum lever cover, and these are felt not to be adequate. It is suggested that detachment screws be indicated, and the cover shewn in the withdrawn position by dotted lines. The dimension 19.375 would be deleted and a dimension for the amount of withdrawal added. BENTLEY. Nothing is shewn on the Bentley Chassis Print relating to the steering pendulum lever cover removal. We suggest that it be treated in the way proposed for the 25/30 HP. and the amount of withdrawal necessary be determined by experiment on a finished chassis.
