Dear Mr. Thompson,

Thank you for your letter of the 17th.

I am sorry about your brakes. You will definitely have to instruct that when the car is washed water shall not be directed on to the brake drums, or alternatively that if this happens the brakes should be dried off before you take the car out. The front brakes are the chief offenders and if the wheels are removed when the car is washed any mud can be brushed off the brake drums without the trouble ensuing.

We can overcome the trouble completely so that you can wash the car anyhow you like, but have only just established the cure so that the parts are not yet available. As soon as they are available we will fit them if you can let us have the car at the Works. I do not want to take the car away from you for a little time because you will probably find there are various other things you want to query, and suggest therefore that you run it until after Easter, when we will tackle the brakes and any other points you raise. I have also got one or two modifications I want to fit to improve the silence of the car.

Sorry I could not get the brakes done before we delivered the car to you.

Yours sincerely,
