centre-point than was at first supposed. We understand there is a markedly less tendency to wobble, for one thing. We therefore thought that we should be in order in laying out a wire wheel with a vertical pivot, if possible, and we send you a print of "N" Scheme 758 which is a rough suggestion with this object in view. We have shewn a knuckle joint for the cross steering tube, and a suggestion for making the tube adjustable. The hub shell would have to be considerably modified, and it would not be possible to get either cap on the steering pivot off except by taking off the wheel, but we expect the principal objection seen will be that it causes the front hubs to stick out roughly .7 aside more than on "N" Scheme 752. It will also be seen that the wire wheel is built up so that none of the spokes are vertical, the vertical load being intended to be taken equally, by the two inner rows of spokes.
We are sending, also, a print of "N" Sch: 753 shewing the Rudge-Whitworth wheel adapted to the same axle as "N" Scheme 752.
