X7220 BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM E+ E2/M13.6.31. C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 20/25 - FAN DRIVE TO SUIT DEEPER RADIATOR. We send herewith Lec. 3921. shewing the above. This drawing has been traced from your scheme No.1491, and the modifications proposed to avoid using a very long fan hub are to move the fan belt drive forward as shewn and to be content with a fan further from the radiator. This scheme does in fact shew the present length of fan hub and the present fan bracket packed forward about .55" If Derby consider the fan is now too far from the radiator it can be moved forward to an amount not exceeding .75" The fan pulley and hub have been made in one piece out of cast iron for simplicity and economy.
