Referring to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}12/N.10.2.38 as soon as I saw your first report about this, I immediately made enquiries regarding the numbers and value of MR brake linings in stock, with a view to seeing whether it would not probably be best to scrap them.

I now have the information and shall be speaking to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} about it on Monday when we shall probably decide to scrap them so that the improved type can always be fitted.
