TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM AJS. Copy to - GEH HFC. ORIGINAL AJS2/M2.2.26. 2. DUPLEX PRESS BUTTON SWITCH. NEW PHANTOMCodename for PHANTOM I. X7650 X8650 We have received no adverse comment upon sketches we sent to R.{Sir Henry Royce} recently indicating the principle of the above unit, and therefore presume that only minor alterations might be made by him to the unit as indicated on the enclosed drawing LeC. 2199., a print of which has been forwarded to R.{Sir Henry Royce} Referring to the drawing, the narrow bearing of the moving portion combined with reasonable clearance is for the purpose of allowing the metal contacts to seat properly when these are not exactly in the same plane through manufacturing errors, or wear, etc. The little moulded in pillar acts as a guide to make up for the narrow bearing referred to above. The colours of the conductors refer to the technical circuit diagram - LeC. 2194. - It is obvious however that the interchange of the yellow and green is immaterial as far as the switch is concerned.
