For the attention of Mr. Cheetham.

Dear Sirs,

Confirming our conversation at your Works yesterday with reference to the draught excluder, the latest sample which you have submitted is a decided improvement on the previous sample, although the rubber does not appear to have the life in it we should like, and there is quite a variation in the section through-out its length.

We should like you to have the 20 yards which we have on order from you covered in a velvet that will match the leather, a cutting of which is enclosed herewith.

As we shall be wanting a further 20 yards at a later date, it would be advisable for you to have 40 yards of the rubber section made, and retain the 20 yards left over for the second body, the colour of which has not yet been decided.

Regarding the covering, it was explained to Mr.Cheetham, that we should like to keep the backing of the fabric so that it just covered the bead and not to extend appreciably beyond this, which will allow the draught excluder to compress as thin as possible, when the door is closed, also that the pile should not be carried underneath, but should only reach to the flap portion of the rubber section.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE, LTD.,
