The Empire Rubber Co., Ltd.,
Dunstable,
Beds.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of June 18th, and note that you hope to have the mould for the glass buffers in about 10 days time.

With reference to the sponge washer strip for the sliding roof, we think for the sample body, we shall be able to use the strip for which you have a mould, the section of which you sent us a sketch.

Regarding the length required, this is 40" as stated in our previous letter.

We note your remarks to the effect that you consider that a live skin would create difficulty in manufacturing. We would therefore like to try a much softer strip which is necessary to form a good seal between the sliding roof and fixed roof.

Our official order for this will be sent to you in due course.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE, LTD.,
