G.W.H. Please follow up. SECRET. To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}1/HP.18.2.35. c.c. RMC. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} SpectreCodename for Phantom III Sump. We send you herewith drawing:- LeC.4352 showing the engine oil sump modified, and brought up to date to overcome the original faults. The pattern can be altered forthwith. In addition to adding the baffle to overcome loss of oil pressure when cornering and the sheet metal tray for accelerating, we have taken about .5 in depth off the bottom of the case at the aft end. This will improve the ground clearance and we shall now have 8.1" under the engine under normal ride. The oil level indicator is unaltered, but moved into a new position. It requires however a new float arm and float. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} LeC.4352 herewith. | ||
