W/S PN.{Mr Northey} C. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Bs.{A J. Barnes - Assistant Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 879 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}12/H7.1.30. re. Sir Henry Seagrave's Test of 1-WJ. With reference to your PN{Mr Northey}1/WT3.1.30. with regard to Sir Henry Seagrave's criticisms on the above, which I have now noted. He seems to have brought forward points which have already been criticised and which are having Experimental Dept. attention, and we note has been fully dealt with in Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ.4.1.30. The point we are concerned about, however, is making the best of our present production, and I am therefore arranging to be with you during your tests on Friday. Another matter about which we are concerned is the chassis for Sir Henry Seagrave (80-WJ) which has already been despatched as a chassis from the Works. In this connection we have made it clear in several memoranda that this is in every respect a standard chassis, and at the time various propositions were submitted which are now mentioned in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}' memo. It may, however, now be considered worth while for some special jobs to be done on this chassis prior to its completion and delivery to customer, i.e. such points as higher geared axle, different setting of the shock absorbers, whether Hartfords should also be fitted, springing re-considered etc. EP.{G.
