List of required modifications and faults to be rectified on an engine unit, including leaks and part replacements.

(k) Increase the diameter of the 4 stud holes in the base of the block to .375.

(l) Fit end thrust plunger for camshaft in accordance with Ex.29816 to prevent low speed rattle. Remove cam balancer tappets and springs.
We hope to have tried this out on No.8. unit before fitting to No.7. unit.

(m) Scheme for brackets on the tappet doors is at present being drawn out to prevent tappets lifting out when the push rods are removed.
Incorporate if available before unit goes on test.

Small details requiring attention are:-

(a) Dynamo squeaks, suspect bearing.

(b) Rocker shaft studs leaks water.

(c) Water pump bend leaks water.

(d) Top front exhaust stud leaks water.

(e) Two core plugs rear O.S. " "

(f) Timing case plug near relief valve case leaks oil.

(g) Timing case leaks near distributor.

"(n) Fit 3 connecting rods with non-flanged thin section big end bearings (A.C.6.)
