C O P Y. COPY, To Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Copy to J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} R1/P 31.12.13. With reference to undersheeting of the car here, this is very unsatisfactory. The water strikes the flat end which comes up between the crank chamber and the flywheel. There is sufficient space apparently for the water to shoot between these two parts. It then flies right through the spaces for the pedals, and does not mind if it hits the driver right in the eye. This under-sheeting may be badly fitted, but I think we ought to endeavour to get out a scheme in which such a fault is impossible. Will you kindly look into the matter, and see if anything can be done to avoid it. R.{Sir Henry Royce} [Handwritten on left margin]: x5285 [Watermark]: DICKINSON BOND | ||
