EFC4/T17.8.20. X.4064 - AERO TYPE DYNAMO WITH VIBRATOR REGULATOR. X.1402 This combined dynamo and regulator was sent to us on May 13th from West WitteringHenry Royce's home town. So far as we can see it would appear that this machine is intended to work in conjunction with a 12 volt battery. The dynamo is a two-pole shunt wound machine, having the following particulars :- Weight of complete machine with regulator but without pulley - 22 lbs. 2 ozs. Weight of armature without pulley - 6 lbs. 14 ozs. (including ball bearings). Air Gap - .016" - .40 mm. Field Circuit. (Number of wound poles. Two. (Field winding wire - particulars unobtainable. (Arrgt. of coils - two in series. (Resistance of field circuit at 19°C - 7.4 ohms . Number of slots - 24 Number of commutator segments - 48 Armature resistance - .2 ohm at 19°C Brushes arranged - one per holder. two holders. Commutator dia. - 1.92" Commutator length - .93" Contact area of each brush - .7" x .277" x .193 sq.ins. Grade and hardness of brushes. about 1 grade harder than Morganite H.M. 6. Contd. | ||
