To EFC. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to CJ. " " Mr. Walker. ORIGINAL. +.995. RE ELECTRICAL APPENDIX TO HANDBOOK. Very few people realise the value of the following points:- "Whenever convenient, wash the battery down with water to remove the acid, and let it dry before putting it back in the outer case. This is especially valuable after recharging or refilling. It will reduce the leakage of the charge". "If it is found to be difficult to maintain the battery in a well charged condition, we strongly recommend a small current of about one ampere be allowed to run through it in a charging direction while standing in the garage. This can be done via the connection socket for the pilot lamp." RECEIVED [Handwritten section] Further. R.{Sir Henry Royce} The most useful apparatus to have on a car is a small portable voltmeter one can quickly find by this where the voltage is lost in case of a circuit failing to function. Failing a voltmeter use the portable lamp. Another extremely useful thing to carry is the usual inexpensive electrical test hand lamp. with it being extremely handy & safe from fire risks. R | ||
