DEPARTMENTAL MEMO. Issued 28th June 1911 This column is for Name of Person addressed: Mr Nadin Date: 28/6/11 Steering Column. B type. CJ12/D28611 Mr Oldham reports - "This column is about 3" further aft of dash than A type, but speed and brake levers of A and B are at same distance from dash. Owners and drivers have several times pointed out to me that with B column the levers are too far forward. I agree, and though we have not a large number of B columns, I hope the point will have W's attention. Please report on this. [Handwritten reply to Mr Nadin, dated 28.6.11] C.J. I Suggest fitting Change-Speed & Brake-levers mid-way between "A" & "C" positions, i.e. at 23 1/2" from dash to Change-Speed handle in rear position R O Spring.
