WRAITH 111 - MODIFIED WATER & BREATHER PIPES.

Please receive herewith E.CD.68 Modified Water & Breather Pipes, Oil Filler etc.

The following alterations are called for on this design :-

(1). A Simple shape of breather pipe.
To suit this we have had to alter the position of breather pipe fixing to Oil Filler. it should be noted that this breather pipe will not be suitable for Bentley 111 although the revised oil filler will be used on Bentley 111 also.

(2). Altered Bottom Water Pipes.
The bottom water pipe has been altered so that it will be common to Wraith 111 and Bentley 111. This alteration calls for a modification to the water pump cover and inlet bend. The reason for the alteration is to enable the starter motor and cover to be removed with the engine in the chassis, which meant the water pipe had to be raised at the front and to allow the cover to pass between it and the chassis.frame on Bentley 111.

(3). Altered Main Oil Feed to Gallery Pipe.
The oil pipe shown on E.CD.44 fouls the brake carrier lever on sump, the pipe is therefore modified to clear this.

(4). Exhaust Expansion Box Tie Bracket & Brake Lever Stop
As the breather pipe does not now pass through these fittings, we have altered the shapes to suit, and have also taken the opportunity to strengthen the Tie bracket at the point where the fracture occurred on the car in France.

Will you please detail and instruct the above alterations as soon as possible, so that the parts will be available for the six cars to be built in the Works.
