Faults with the electrical equipment, bodywork, and petrol pump system.

-3- ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. It was found necessary to change the coil. This may have been due to a faulty coil or faulty connection, and should be investigated. If the horn on this car is the latest type of Lucas, then the matter should be taken up with the Makers immediately. These horns were quite hopeless from start to finish of the trip. They appear to pass out with variations of temperature, or in mist and rain. The clock makes too much noise when it winds up. Is this really necessary ? BODY. The body is very bad for wind noise. The rear head room is still inadequate. The offside front door sticks closed. The nearside front door is difficult to shut properly. As these are the latest Silentbloc locks we should investigate as to the reason for these complaints. PETROL PUMP. The petrol pump failed after 150 miles driving. One side cut out completely when the engine was hot. The warning light on the petrol system appears to come on when there are 4 to 5 gallons in the tank. This is annoying as it is so conspicuous that it reduces the petrol tank capacity to 13 gallons. It should be rectified. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
