We shall be sending this car into the Shop for your examination and report after 15,000 miles test, as soon as the body has been removed. Whilst we cannot give you a full specification for re-building the car until various parts have been examined, the following is an outline of the modifications that will be required, in order to assist you to prepare your schedule and not delay the chassis in a dismantled state longer than necessary. Phantom III. axle gears. Needle roller steering pivots. Design scheme for torque member on rear engine mounting. Fully isolated gear lever. Mod. to prevent 3rd. gear working out. New iron front brake drums and water excluders to suit. Flexible pipe from damper governor unit. New front expansion box. Water pump thrust peg to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. instructions. Re-fit existing silentbloc bushes in front eyes of rear springs. Special springs in side steering tube (already fitted) Enlarge holes in cruciform for brake rods between servo and rear equalizer. Hand brake mods to GCD.446.
