Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}

To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Controllable Shock Dampers - RR Type.
<s>Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}C.</s>
<s>Sft.{Mr Swift} Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}</s>

Referring to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/MJ.6.11.33 I note the information in regard to the extra cost of controllable shock dampers of the RR type as fitted to 104-MY.

It appears quite clear that the responsible officials here are agreed on the desirability of standardising dampers of this type on both the standard Phantom and the Continental Phantom as soon as possible.

I see from your memo. that they are being cleared for standardisation by a 10,000 mile test and that you hope to issue a standardisation sheet in about two weeks, and further that, as the Works have already proceeded with 25 sets, it should be possible to get them on production in a very few weeks after this has been effected.

Will BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} please let Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} know in due course when they will become standard.
