1033 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GR.{George Ratcliffe}11/JH. 23rd May, 1938. The Zenith Carburettor Co.Ltd., Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, MIDDLESEX. For the attention of Mr.A.E.Palmer. Dear Sirs, D.C.42 Carburettor. <handwritten> returned to Mr Mill </handwritten> We thank you for your letter of the 17th inst. and in reply to paragraph (a) state that the usual arrangement with our works has been made in respect of supplying all necessary ball ends. We enclose however the print E.60626 which you will see has a longer shank than the previous ball end used. The object of this is to prevent any possible fouling of the ball joint body on the throttle lever irrespective of position in which it is locked on the control rod. With reference to paragraph (b) the writer is anxious to get this modification at the start. We shall be quite satisfied if you supply all the existing covers tapped out to 7/16" dia. 18 T.P.I.R.H. All carburettors returned to you should have covers replaced if necessary. Our production people have been removing these covers to machine same for the steel insert and this in turn necessitated moving the name plate. | ||
