30.7.34. SPECIFICATION NO.ELC.43. PRODUCTION TEST OF CONDENSER FOR R.R. BATTERY IGNITION MADE BY TELEGRAPH CONDENSER CO.LTD. (1) The condenser shall be tested for breakdown by applying to its terminals an A.C. voltage of 400 (R.M.S.) for a period of one minute. (2) The capability of holding a static charge should be verified. (3) The condenser shall now undergo a test for capacity being placed across an A.C. voltage of approximately 200 (R.M.S.) when the capacity shall lie between the limits of .21 to .25 micro-farads. (4) The condenser should be given a short run on a standard breaker distributor and sparking rig, to test for faulty connections which will generally shew up in bad sparking. (5) The condenser shall be tested for insulation resistance with a 500 volt Megger, and must have an infinite resistance at atmospheric temperature. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
