In reply to your memo C13/C6513, we wish to state that we have not sent a copy of our report to Messrs. Peto and Radford, and Mr. Wormald agrees that it is hardly advisable to do so. The experiment has been made of course for our own purpose and not for theirs. In connection with the above, we might mention that Mr. Royce has been rather displeased that the Experimental Shop has been occupying its time in testing so many lighting sets recently, and all further tests have now been cancelled. Mr. Royce suggests that in the event of customers enquiring after dynamo sets our replies should be guided by the following statement, extracted from his memo :- "If we say that we do not know, they (i.e. other "makes of dynamos) may be excellent, but we fit "C.A.V. as standard and have very convenience for "fitting these, and we should have to charge extra "for fitting other makes". This remark applies of course to the Lucas "King of the Road" which, however, has been fitted to chassis 2200 and is doing a short tour in France. p. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} | ||
