43806 Exptl. Dept. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg.{J. C. Bowring}9/KW. 19th March,1935. Messrs. Luvax Ltd., Warple Way, Acton, London, N.3. For the attention of Mr. H.W. Pitt. Dear Sirs, Bijur Tank Filler Caps. We notice that normally on tanks you supply to us the oil filler caps have two air vents drilled through the rivets retaining the spring. Recently it appears that a number have been supplied without these vents. Will you please enlighten us as to whether this is in order, or whether a vent is put elsewhere. Should this be an error in production, it may lead to failure of oil supply caused by a vacuum set up in the tank, and will necessitate the changing of all unvented caps. Thanking you for an early reply. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
