Oyl - G 18721 Sheet #2. (2) Dual Set (Contd) for shipment in one month from today, one dual distributor cap, dual rotor, and dual coil, of the new dual ignition outfit which they are developing. They are very anxious to have us try this out. The points of design are an absolutely synchronised dual ignition with automatic advance, and they assure us that should we once try the effect of such an ignition we should be surprised at the results in the running of the car, power, absence of detonation, etc. It will require a new advance setting of the auto advance, but otherwise will fit the present ignition head without alteration. The coil is wound with one primary and two secondaries, arranged so that all plugs are the same polarity, and shorting in the rotor is avoided because all rotor points are the same polarity. (3) Coil - With regard to the coil, we fear that the American Bosch Co. could scarcely undertake to make our coil, since they are fully tooled up on their own. Even should we be able to persuade them to make our coil, we should lose one of the chief advantages of the American Bosch outfit, namely, the facilities for service at about 400 service stations all over the U.S., Canada and South America. We suggest that the American Bosch coil could be quite neatly mounted in a horizontal position thus;- [Diagram Labels] H.T. WIRING TUBE BALLAST RES. H.T. TERMINAL L.T.
