The Tempered Spring Co.,
Burton Weir Works,
SHEFFIELD.

For the attention of Mr. Gerard Young.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to valve springs produced for us, by you.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that we are running into trouble, due to the loading being down, on a considerable number of springs.

On our drawing No. EB.3256 is shown a required load of 45 lbs. (with a limit of plus 2 lbs.) when compressed to 1.525 inches.

We are finding, however, that the majority of these springs, as received, only give a loading around 40 lbs., when compressed to 1.525 inches.

We would like you to give this matter your immediate attention, and confirm as soon as possible, that in future deliveries the valve springs will be up to the poundage shown on the drawing.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
