SpectreCodename for Phantom III Gearbox:

Although the rubber mounting on No.1 car is a big improvement as regards gearbox noise, we still derive a further improvement by removing completely the change speed mechanism. We want therefore to try whether the isolated type of mechanism is better than the present long aluminium casting.

Before we ask the designers to give us a finished design we should like to rig one up on SpectreCodename for Phantom III I to prove out this point. Will you therefore please look into whether Bentley or 20/25 pieces could be used just for experimental purposes.
