| To BA. from E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to RY (struck through) " " HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " " E.O. ORIGINAL (stamp) E F C 24 XII 1921 RECEIVED (stamp) X4239. RE "GOSHAWK(Aero Engine)(Codename for 20HP Car / Aero Engine after Kestrel(Aero Engine)) II" SMALL BALL JOINT FOR CONTROLS. LEC.1387. With reference to the model ball joint for Mr.Royce's inspection, would you kindly arrange to fix the ball into the lever end by means of the .200 parallel stem with drilled out end machine rivetted over as shewn on carburettor drawing LeC.1386, instead of the taper rivetted socket. It is intended that the rivetting operation should be performed with a rotating tool, which appears to be the method used by the Americans in dealing with these hollow rivets.
