X204 S/W....D/L c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C11/C14.2.34 With regard to the burnt out Bentley, the body of this was sent to the Coachbuilders. It is in a very bad condition indeed; for instance, the panels are so affected by heat that one can push ones fingers through them with very little pressure - in fact the Coachbuilders have estimated that it will cost approximately £280 to put right, whereas we can supply one of our contracted bodies for £260. It would not, therefore seem worth while spending the money on this body, and it would be better to buy a new one. This estimate, however, is only an approximate one and I have given instructions for a definite estimate to be sent to you. If you have any objection to this suggestion, please let me know. C. | ||
