H.R. 235a (100 T) (S.H. 798. 10-12-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2948 X3398 TO EFC. FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M20.11.22. X.3398 RE. P. & R.{Sir Henry Royce} BATTERY. We do not object to this battery in itself but agree that there are many points which recommend it. Why you have not been able to get it standardised on the 40/50 is because you will insist on recommending a larger capacity. If you would suggest a battery of the same capacity, and therefore lighter presumably, (though from your information about the Goshawk one supposes that the battery even then would not be extraordinarily lighter) we think that Mr. Royce would very readily agree to the use of P. & R.{Sir Henry Royce} batteries as a second standard.
