SPRINGING.

With reference to our conversation of yesterday, regarding the possibility of springing Sir John Latta's car on the general principles adopted with 10-EX, and your suggestion that we should also try it on one of our own cars, I would like to make this experiment on our new enclosed drive Landaulette, 65-EF.

I have had this car weighed with the following results.-

Front axle 1ton. 4 cwts. 1qr. 7lbs.
Back axle 1. 7. 2. 0.
TOTAL 2. 11. 3. 7.

Car was weighed with full equipment and six gallons of petrol, no driver or passengers.

Would you please obtain the necessary parts for equipping this car with the proposed springs and advise me when they are ready.

There is another service also for which this scheme of springing should prove very useful, and this is, for 20 h.p. cars abroad.

We have at the moment a complaint from a Mr. Schindler of Leipzig regarding chassis GAJ-37, who complains that his car rolls too much and has altogether too much movement under German conditions.

He is bringing the car to England shortly and expects us to make some alteration in his springing to improve this matter and I should say that the type of springs on 10-EX would be just what is required.

Is it possible to prepare a set of springs to fit to this car when it arrives, as although he would probably not expect to pay, yet it will give us a very good opportunity of a test of such springs under fairly severe Continental conditions, which should be very valuable?

Can you prepare a set of springs under these conditions?

The only particulars I can give you are,
