202 W/K.{Mr Kilner} KC. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Absent. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}3/R.18.2.37. BENTLEY REAR AXLE. K/KC/PP/16.2.37. Thank you for your memo above re rear axle leaks. We are increasing on production as soon as possible the size of the bolts securing the axle tubes to the end plate from a 1/4 to 5/16ths. We hope this will overcome the trouble. With regard to the three sets of increased capacity bearings which we sent you for Trials cars, we shall be glad to hear whether you have had an opportunity to fit any of these; if so, we hope you noted carefully the mileage of the car in question. We are still hoping you will find an owner who can fail the cages quickly as we want to try the scheme of improved lubrication on other than experimental cars. We have Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s permission to try this on customers' complaints. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
