X7250. To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to WOP. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}3/MG24.3.30 Phantom II Radiators - Square Tubes (E.30239) I notice the Experimental Shop are requisitioning further supplies of PHANTOM II Square Tube Radiators for experimental purposes - i.e. another 2 sets in addition to the 3 sets we purchased a few weeks ago. Manufacture of these square tube Radiators presents difficulties, and the makers advise us they fully expect the percentage of scrap in production of same will be much in excess of that with our present standard tubes, the net result being that for the few experimental Tubes in question they are charging us ................ 5/- per lb. and tell us, should we want same in bulk, it will be about ................... 4/6d per lb. Should it be decided to standardise such square tube Radiators, therefore, the cost per 40/50 HP. Radiator will go up some ... £3. 0. 0d this including the dividing strips, the latter costing only a few shillings. Please confirm we should proceed ROY{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
