ORIGINAL TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M4.7.23. s. to R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RE. 20.HP. DIPPING HEAD LIGHTS. X4555 We have now fitted the correct lever on the instrument board, and have made the lamps work. The load on the handle appears to be far too great, and we enclose herewith particulars of two springs giving respectively 5 and 10 lbs., torque on the lamp countershaft to supplement the 15 lb. spring we have already asked you to get for us. The lamps make a noise when they come up against the stop, and this is due partly to the reflectors not being screwed to the bowl of the lamp. These reflectors rattle.
