Phantom III - N.Scheme 4956 - Aluminium Front Brake Shoes.

In connection with the above scheme which substitutes aluminium die cast main shoes fitted with mild steel forged auxiliary shoes for the present arrangement, and at the same time deletes the fulcrum brackets and simplifies the pivoting parts at the fulcrum point, we are informed there is a material saving of 13/6d, and a labour saving of 19/5d. The nett result, therefore, of these modifications is a saving in factory cost of £3. 7. 0d.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
