To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to CJ. BJ. c. to RG.{Mr Rowledge} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} +457 HIGH SPEED STEERING WOBBLES. +8430 We shall be sending you a full report on the tests carried out today. Briefly, the results show that the hydraulic type dampers fitted in place of the standard front shock absorbers are very efficient as regards damping out wobbles. We have not been able to arrive at the condition with the hydraulic damper connected to the steering where we have been able to damp out wobbles without introducing undue friction in the steering.
