X457 R.{Sir Henry Royce} C. BJ. C. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY6/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 17.9.25. ----------------- HIGH SPEED WOBBLES. ----------------- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}' memos Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/LG. 15 9.25. and Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/LG. 15.9.25. have just come to hand. It might appear that my conclusions were drawn from the memos in question. As a matter of fact I had not seen them, nor had I seen the chassis running on the bumper. As a matter of fact, when I started to try and thrash the matter out on Tuesday evening at home, I had still got it in my mind that whilst the gyroscopic torque might have only a small re-active factor, it probably affected the issue. I had also firmly fixed in my mind the belief that the wobble was the first phenomena to develop, even though it might not be noticeable. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} By | ||
