be fitted to prevent this feature. When running on the reserve we have not noticed any fault in this direction when down to half a gallon. It is noticed that petrol is splashed out of the filler cap (breather hole) until the tank is approx. three quarters full. Although the amount is not a great quantity, it gives a bad impression by the stains down the filler cap. We have not had any other petrol leaks from the tank.

BIJUR SYSTEM.

We have had considerable failures of the bijur system. We have been continually finding slight weeps of oil from the joints of the pipes. The soldered joints become cracked. We have re-soldered the supply pipes on the front axle, practically all the pipes round the gearbox and rear damper connecting link supply pipe. The bijur supplying the clutch trunnion was passing no oil. The chief trouble seems to be that if any unit has to be dismantled, the joints of the pipes give away.

TELEGAUGE.

The telegauge on this car has not given any definite trouble. During the hot weather the amount reading in the gauge dropped during the night an average of 3.5 gallons. It is very slow in registering the amount of petrol put in the tank. It does register correctly after a while, but it make one dubious whether the supply put in the tank has been correct when replenishing at a pump station.

ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.

BATTERY & SUSPENSION.

We had a failure of the front battery suspension which allowed the battery to drop, completely demolishing the three front cells. The cantilever suspension has been condemned. This suspension being on the car had apparently been overlooked. We have temporarily strengthened the front suspension by fitting extra bolts through the existing holes in the crossmember. The battery had given every satisfaction in regard to its capacity. We had at no time any shortage of supply of current. The battery charge has been on for the whole of the mileage. We have run each day for six hours with the head, side, and tail lamps switched on, having blanked the lights out.

DISTRIBUTOR to LOP.D.72169.

The contact lever in the distributor became very sluggish in action. The bush was too tight a fit on the anchorage pin. We gave this an approx .003" clearance. The contact points were in a good condition, with full face contact.

DYNAMO to SUIT HALF-CHARGE SCHEME No R.15.Ex.

The dynamo has given no trouble. The output has been
