RE. KNOCK ON CAR DUE TO SPRINGS ON REAR/AXLE ROLLERS.

In view of the serious complaints of the aboved which we are receiving on new cars which have been delivered to customers, we must bring forward for further consideration the action which should be taken with regard to this matter.

Although we have on various occasions brought this matter forward, and although it has been confirmed and reported on by the Experimental Dept., the only instructions we have so far got in this respect are that we can fix/wearing plates on cars on which we have customers' complaints special.

We also understand that this will probably be standardised on "P" Series simultaneously with the thin leaf springs. Meantime, however, this is becoming a general complaint on new cars and is confirmed by Sales Dept. also by Mr.Evans as being generally talked about. Statements are being made that cars are being turned out from the works unsatisfactory in this respect.

In replying to memo. from Sales Dept. on this matter, C1/C28.2.21, we have recommended that this be brought up in conference as soon as possible, as it would seem from information available from Sales Dept. that we should consider the question of fitting these wearing plates retrospectively, and no further chassis to leave the works unless this is done.

We shall be glad if you will give this matter your consideration, also if Mr will bring the matter up at the next conference.
