PLEASE ADDRESS ALL COMMUNICATIONS TO THE COMPANY IN YOUR REPLY PLEASE QUOTE DEPARTMENT Nº A-1 29 October 1936 F D Smith Esq Messrs Rolls-Royce Limited DERBY Dear Sir: We have been going into the matters raised by your letter of the 23rd instant and are somewhat puzzled to identify the items mentioned in your first paragraph. We cannot trace having displayed any Model 'B' replacement parts, but if, accidentally, any were shown, we cannot imagine that they were faced with rubberised friction fabrics. We have no record of having used a rubberised compound in any shape or form for our clutches. Such facings as we use in this country are obtained from Ferodo or the Gandy Belt Company, and are decidedly asbestos fabrics. Trusting that this will give you the information you require.
