84057. To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From G.W.H. hotel de France, Chateauroux, FRANCE. 29.11.32. 2.PER.II. We are carrying out a test on the steering with the back end of the side steering tube, i.e. pendulum end, the contacts made solid. I have just tried the car and in my opinion the steering is more selective, and the road shocks on the wheel are not increased more than 10%. It also takes out that spongy feeling of the steering, and I could not produce and tendency to wobbles. We have had to return owing to the breaking again of the aluminium bracket of the rear shock damper. I am going to get two of these brackets made in steel as we have used both of our spares. K.L.G.734 PLUGS. These do not show any sign of preignition on the road, but the engine continues to run after shutting off very similar to the previous plugs, Lodge HD.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}15. I will report later on the general opinion of the steering. G.W.H. | ||
