Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/T.15.3.41 - 2 -

- R.M.1712 - The end limit on the detail drawing was agreed to be unnecessary.

- R.M.1713 - It was agreed that the first oil pump should be without bush, but not that the helical gear should be abandoned.

- R.M.1706/7 - CONNECTION BETWEEN OIL PUMP AND GALLERY PIPE - Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} said that this was the heart of the engine and he did not agree to any alternative, unless it should be proved that this was materially cheaper. It was agreed that we should try and find out what was the general practice on this item.

- R.M.1716/7/8/41 - It was agreed that the first bottom half should be made up from sheet metal, because it is not clear how it can be cast satisfactorily, the problem of the fabrication of this sheet metal bottom half is to be discussed with experts at some future date.

- DIP STICK - It was agreed that Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} should be asked to give us a dip stick on the lines of the Vauxhall type.

- R.M.1793 - DISTRIBUTOR DRIVE SHAFT - If the Shop prefer this in one piece, it is agreed that we shall try the first one made like this.

- R.M.1796 - It was agreed that Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. should submit an alternative cast angle piece with buttresses to Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} for his consideration.

- R.M.1797 - There seems to be no objection to a parallel dowel, provided that the hole in the aluminium bracket either is not drilled right through, or is swaged over the end.

- R.M.1804 - It was difficult to see that the swaging over of the thrust button served any purpose.

- R.M.1875 - VALVE GUIDES - The fine limits on the existing valve guides were adopted to prevent oil leaking down the valve stem. There was no reason why these limits should not be increased slightly on the side of the exhaust valve.

- R.M.1924 - OIL FILLER TO DETAIL R.M.1930 - There seems to be no objection to sweating this piece.

- R.M.1675 - The Shop objected to two diametrically opposite keys. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} asked Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. to submit to Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} a sketch with single key for his consideration.

- R.M.1935 - STUDS FOR ROCKER COVER - Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} recommended that these should be detailed so that they could be made from Bright Bar.

- R.M.1685 - Spigot for spring to be deleted.

- R.M.1820 - It was not agreed to delete the dowel location.
