COPY. Oy5-G31.7.20. July 31, 1920. Mr. Claude Johnson, Managing Director, 15 Conduit St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} London, England. Dear Sir, Re: Suggested Changes in Design. Report No. 9. BONNET CHANGES. The present Bonnet is quite awkward to handle because there is nothing to catch hold of except the two small pins which engage the bonnet catches. It has been proposed by us, and accepted by Mr. Royce for some twelve months past that an improved method of lifting the bonnet is desirable, and we have urged the adoption of lifting handles for the bonnet. These are used on all American cars and looked upon as necessary. We would like to incorporate one, or better two lifting handles on each panel of the bonnet on the American cars, and would be pleased if we could have permission to do so not later than the end of September. BONNET LOCK: A lock should also be incorporated. This has been referred to in correspondence several times during the last six or eight months. | ||
