x7772 SECRET. 020/WDI/18-5-29. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from S. Copies to: R.{Sir Henry Royce} Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Lt. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} RE: S.S. L.H. We have now considered the position as regards the bodies for 24-KX, 25-KX and 26-KX. On the assumption that there will be no difficulty in altering the sub-frame to suit a right hand drive chassis, we are telling Barkers to continue with the Sports Saloon laid down for 24-KX. We will give them revised instructions on the interior and exterior finish. It is correct that for trials purposes we shall want, in addition to the Sports Saloon, an Open car with efficient side curtains and a six-seater Enclosed Limousine with quarter lights - the latter on a long chassis with 'O' column. We would like to see a revised edition of Blue Print H.Sch:2872 showing good all-weather equipment and a revised drawing of the six-seater Pullman Limousine treated in the manner you suggest but, as mentioned above, designed for the 'O' column. This should cover the three types we shall want for trials purposes and, if anything happens to render it unnecessary to put them into commission for trials purposes, they will still be good stock and readily saleable. We may add, in explanation of our preference for the 'O' column for the six-seater body, that we still have a good demand from the customer who attaches the greatest importance to the space available in the rear part, and we think it very necessary that we should be able to shew what can be done in this direction.
