To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X. 8430 Dal/M2. 9. 25. STEERING. We understand that a new bracket on the dashboard will enable you to use the large worm with short lead. With reference to the lead and the length of pendulum lever which we recommend, we are afraid it is impossible to say anything definite about this until we have some experimental results. The lead that we expected would give you the best results is .720 - one giving us an angle of 7° 15 mins., but we are afraid that it will be found that this is so irreversible that the car will not centre itself. We believe that experimental results are not far off and we suggest that before making a decision we should wait for them. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
